Fancy words like vintage and rustic aside, when you think about a farmhouse, you feel closer to nature. No matter how modern and high-tech your life is, being close to nature is, well, in human nature. That’s where earthen colors come in.

A Scandinavian design may focus on neutral shades, but our modern farmhouse design loves the browns and russet reds, the off-whites and metallic grays of a working farmhouse.

4. Install Stick-On LED Lights 

If you are unhappy with the light in your kitchen, you don’t need to get used to it.  Go to the nearest hardware store and buy a strip of stick-on LED lights or order them on Amazon.

Long strips can be found for under twenty dollars, and sticking them under your cabinets gives you perfect task lighting for whatever you’re up to in the kitchen.
